Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Step into Hope Awareness Walk?
Step into Hope is an annual walk and family fun event hosted by Voice of Hope! Formally known as Walk a Mile In Her Shoes, it is an exciting opportunity to raise awareness in our community about the serious causes, effects, and remediations to sexualized violence. Although these situations can seem hopeless, we’re here to let people know that hope does exist and that this event is an opportunity to celebrate hope!
Who can participate in the walk?
The Step Into Hope Awareness Walk is family friendly! All ages are invited to walk with us! We will have games and activities for all ages during the event!
Are the red high heels still part of the event?
In light of the transition from Walk a Mile to Step Into Hope, we have decided to move away from the red high heel shoe as the focal point of the walk. We want the event to be as inclusive to all persons as possible, so no heels required! Wear your most comfy walking shoe, or be daring and bring your heels. We won’t say no if any strong men are dying to wear heels!
When and where is Step Into Hope?
The 2024 Step Into Hope Awareness Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 29th. Registration starts at 12pm with the walk starting at 1pm. We are meeting at Safety City at Clapp Park in Lubbock.
